This top tier US investment bank requires a Vessel Operator to join this expanding commodity desk. In this role you will be sitting in the front office with the traders working on the shipment of a wide range of commodities including oil, coal, plastics, agriculture, precious metals and base metals.

In this role you will be responsible for all the shipping and chartering of vessels. This will include liaising with external charterers, agents, inspectors and internal compliance, credit, legal and tax. This autonomous role has excellent career potential, as you will be managing a high volume of vessels in an expanding chartering business. You will also be required to provide traders with accurate market data, cover all aspects of vessel operations and shipping and manage demurrage calculations and settlements.

To be successful in your application you must have shipping experience including chartering vessels and dealing with ship brokers and agents. You must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment and feel comfortable developing systems and processes. You must also have a degree of 2.1 standard or higher (or equivalent). Experience within dry bulk or coal will also be beneficial.
