3 October 2007 17:12

A number of UK-based employees have reported engaging in the practice of taking post-holiday days-off, it has emerged.

According to the results of a research conducted by travelsupermarket.com, of those participating in the survey, 27 per cent admitted to taking a post-holiday day off, with two per cent reportedly feeling guilty about it.

The findings were based upon the answers provided by 1,000 workers.

"For many people, their holiday is so hotly anticipated that when it's over, it is a massive anti-climax," said Kayte Williams, holidays manager at travelsupermarket.com

"For others, a jam-packed break means they are more exhausted on their return than when they left," she added.

Among the reasons proffered to their employer include flights being delayed and post-holiday illness.

Travelsupermarket.com offers comparisons on a number of products, including shopping and broadband internet.
