CIM: Training benefits both employees and firms

Customised training can help serve a business' particular needs, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has claimed.
Speaking to Creativematch, CIM learning and development marketing manager Renita Shwili said that more organisations are opting for personalised training "rather than taking an ad hoc approach".
Additionally, she explained that firms which are working towards identifying and addressing skills gaps could benefit from the focus of such programmes.
"We believe that 60 per cent of companies have or are working towards establishing competency frameworks, which identify and prioritise skills gaps," remarked Ms Shwili.
She added that the CIM "can deliver training in a variety of ways to suit the customer and build them into an overarching development programme that improves their team's competency and ability to deliver value".
Just over one out of ten employees feel that they do not have adequate skills for their current job, according to the Sector Skills Development Agency.
