A policy of graduate recruitment in the east Midlands has prompted PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to take on two new partners, according to one of the firm's senior partners.
Andy Lyon said that after the recent summer intake of 26 graduates there was now a business case for taking on more senior staff, reports the Leicester Mercury.
Mr Lyon also commented that the accountancy firm is looking to employ 400 people by 2010 - which would be additional 40 employees on top of the 360 people currently on the books at the accountancy firm in the east Midlands.
PwC's expansion comes in the wake of a six per cent increase in annual turnover and a profit of £631 million.
Commenting on the figures, Kieran Poynter, the chairman of PwC in the UK, said: "Our results demonstrate the strength and diversity of our business and reflect the demands for an increasingly broad set of high quality services from our clients."
