Interim managers 'offer big savings'

30 August 2007 16:04

New research has highlighted the considerable savings available to companies that invest in interim management.

Businesses which use managers for interim jobs could take advantage of an average saving of £1.68 million per assignment, according to findings from Boyden Interim Management.

In simpler terms, companies should expect to receive back £14 in business value for every pound which they spend on appointing someone to an interim management post, Recruiter Magazine reports.

The firm's chief executive Nick Robeson said that, in a business climate in which resourcing requirements are increasingly dictated by "major change projects", interim managers can offer a "flexible and highly effective solution".

Recent research by Russam GMS has revealed that interim bosses are now earning an average of £585 per day, a figure which has increased by 5.4 per cent on last year. The lucrative nature of this kind of work has meant that many managers are now deliberately avoiding permanent positions, the firm stated.
