London 'tops for graduate jobs'

Many graduates are determined to move to London after they leave university because they believe the capital offers the best job opportunities, new research reveals.
A study by the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) indicates that the majority of students in university towns plan to relocate to London because of work, the Guardian reports.
Emma Pollard, a senior research fellow at the IES, said that this trend may be particularly evident regarding those seeking finance jobs, telling the publication that "some regions do have less of a vibrant financial services sector" than London.
Separate figures from the Higher Education Careers Service Unit report that about one in five UK graduates between the ages of 21 and 29 begin working in London within six months of graduation.
Meanwhile, chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters Carl Gilleard suggested that "employers outside London need to do more to attract graduates".
A recent report from Halifax Financial Services indicated that salaries in London rose during July.
