Mobile working could increase productivity in marketing jobs

10 August 2007 19:00

The founders of a digital marketing company have participated in a T-Mobile mobility challenge and concluded that working remotely increases productivity.

Co-founders of Enable Interactive Matt Connelly and Darius Pocha were challenged to work remotely for a week using only a laptop and Nokia N95.

Travelling to locations such as the London Eye, Brighton beachfront and Heathrow Airport, they tested the impact that mobile working really has upon productivity.

Creative director at Enable Interactive Mr Pocha said that he found mobile working enhanced his creativity.

He said: "I often find being office-bound can stifle creativity - the option to change locations and work flexibly helped improve my energy levels and motivation.

"Using the USB modem, I was able to conduct a meeting in Second Life and work from the beach and the zoo - working from this type of location felt like a cross between being at work and on holiday and provided the perfect setting to gain inspiration from my surroundings."
