Marketing jobs shift focus

Marketing jobs will become increasingly focused on the internet as a medium as the media industry undergoes a "major shift", a new report has suggested.
The report by private equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS) predicts that online marketing will outstrip its print counterparts by 2011, with advertisers pumping more money into digital marketing having looked at consumer trends.
The study found that US consumers spend more time surfing the net than reading newspapers, going to the cinema or listening to CDs.
Executive vice-president and managing director James Rutherfurd said: "We are in the midst of a major shift in the media landscape that is being fuelled by changes in technology.
"We expect these shifts to continue over the next five years as time and place shifting accelerate."
