'Most' employees affected by pay-related problems

31 October 2007 18:08

Most Britain-based employees have been affected by a payroll-related discrepancy, it has been claimed.

According to the results of a study by Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Employer Services, in partnership with YouGov, not only are employees affected by errors that could include under or overpayment, one out of every five confessed to the belief that they would not spot errors should they occur.

Indeed, a total of 11 per cent confirmed that the accuracy of payslips was not regularly confirmed, reports HR Zone.

"Employers should encourage employees to consistently check this information and educate them on what to look out for," said Ian Sparrow, director of ADP Freedom.

"Payroll errors could not only cause both employers and employees to be out of pocket, they also cost payroll and HR professionals time in rectifying problems," he added.

ADP has been in operation for more than 55 years.
