A number of Britons are working in excess of 60 hours every week, it has been claimed.
According to the results of a study by social networking site Realbuzz.com, out of every ten employees, four confirmed that they work in excess of 60 hours every week, reports Personnel Today.
The study's results were based upon a poll of 1,000 individuals.
"It's staggering to see how strongly the British public feels about work impacting on their free time and ultimately getting in the way of them enjoying a pastime," said Fiona Gibbins, marketing director for Realbuzz.com.
Moreover, the survey found that 75 per cent of respondents confirmed that their working lives negatively impacted upon their own personal time.
A further 38 per cent considered themselves to be working hours felt to be "above average".
Under UK law, between each working day, employees should receive at least 11 hours of rest, according to Business Link.
