Middle managers 'most likely to hoard'

A survey has found that middle managers within an organisation are the most likely to "hoard" information.
According to the results of a study by Tower Software, a provider of enterprise content management, hoarding is most likely to occur in the ranks of middle management, especially those over the age of 45.
Indeed, it was found that the items most-coveted by these hoarders included emails and documents.
"The survey
suggests that the already challenging task of effective electronic document and records management
is being further complicated by a myriad of 'information creatures' among employees," said David Oates, vice president of Tower Software.
Dubbed Document Mayhem in the UK and Republic of Ireland, the study also identified that 62 per cent of middle managers store documents that are needed for sharing in locations that do not include an organisation's shared space.
