A number of the UK's workers use paid hobbies to help increase their incomes, it has been claimed.
According to reports by Personnel Today, a recent survey by National Savings & Investments (NS&I) has found that out of every five employees, one uses a hobby to give themselves additional money to spend.
Through this method, Britain-based employees generate an annual total of £26.5 billion.
"British people are proving that saving money can be enjoyable when combined with a fun activity or hobby," said Dax Harkins, a senior savings strategist at NS&I.
"It is great to see so many people using their initiative to earn some extra money which will help them create a nest egg for the future," he added.
The survey also found that, each week, employees set aside an average total of 11 hours for such tasks.
NS&I was formerly known as the National Savings Bank.
