Expansion for Devon accountancy firm

A Devon-based accountancy firm has announced the expansion of its taxation department.

According to reports by Express & Echo, Thomas Westcott has appointed a further three specialists to its taxation department, one of which has joined as an associate and another as a partner.

Thomas Westcott operates in across Devon and maintains a total of ten offices.

"These appointments further strengthen our experienced tax team and reflect our commitment to providing high quality services for clients," said Richard Thomas, a senior partner at Thomas Westcott.

Dale Simpson, who is a specialist in capital gains tax, in addition to inheritance tax planning, has joined the firm as a partner.

Mr Simpson also specialises in work on landed estates.

Jane Evans is the associate employee.

Originally known as legacy, succession and estate duties, inheritance tax was originally introduced to England and Wales in 1796.
