Men 'want better work-life balance'

20 December 2007 15:30

A new survey has revealed that male workers are becoming increasingly concerned about whether they have a good work-life balance.

Over a fifth of male employees surveyed by the Kenexa Research Institute said they believe their employers do not provide adequate support for helping them to juggle home and work responsibilities.

These same respondents were also found to be more likely to express a negative view of company management, with fewer citing that they believe they are treated fairly by their superiors.

"In order to be successful in competing for and retaining talented employees, organisations must be willing to recognise an employee's need for balance and should work toward creating policies that equally support both men and women," commented Jack Wiley, executive director of the Kenexa Research Institute.

Yesterday, a report from Citrix Online suggested that nearly four in five working mothers are feeling under pressure as they attempt to balance their home and work priorities in the days leading up to Christmas.ADNFCR-1129-ID-18402752-ADNFCR
