Survey highlights workplace fulfilment levels

10 January 2008 16:15

Research conducted by a voluntary organisation has found a number of British employees feel unfulfilled within the workplace.

Data released by Global Vision International (GVI), an organisation established in 1998, has found that 15 per cent of Britain's workforce does not feel fulfilled by their job.

However, 54 per cent confirmed that a salary increase would act to improve satisfation levels.

"While it is worrying that so many people find their jobs unfulfilling, it is encouraging that people are developing a green conscience and wanting to volunteer to make a difference," said Andy Woods-Ballard, director for the GVI.

Of the 1,000 individuals polled, 17 per cent confirmed that fulfilment levels could be improved through environmentally orientated voluntary work.

However, a greater number - 30 per cent - confirmed that an increase in responsibility would have the desired effect.

Every year, GVI dispatches more than 2,000 volunteers to projects around the globe.
