KPMG merges operations

29 January 2008 18:16

One of the Big Four accountancy firms, KPMG, has decided to merge operations in two European locations.

According to reports by Personnel Today, the organisation has opted to unite operations in Germany and Switzerland, leading to a reshuffling of the organisation's human resources (HR) team.

The other organisations that make up the Big Four are Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.

"Within Germany we wanted to build up our reward and diversity proposition. We are recruiting a head of reward for Europe in Germany and we have already recruited a diversity professional into that operation," said David Conder, director of HR in the UK.

KPMG will also be adding to staff numbers in a selection of different specialist roles - most of which will be located outside of the UK.

The judgment was made after it was decided that practices in Switzerland, the UK and Germany would be merged.
