New advice given on fight against RSI

New recommendations have been offered in an effort to help fight against the onset of repetitive strain injury (RSI).
Bronwyn Clifford, a chartered occupational therapist and director of Physio at Work, has announced her belief that, when working, employees should vary the tasks they perform and that employers should the taking of frequent breaks.
Also known as work related upper limb disorder, or occupational overuse syndrome, the condition can produce a number of symptoms, including loss of strength and pain.
"[RSI] is a general term that covers a range of conditions and any activity that requires prolonged maintenance, awkward or static postures, high rates of repetition or exertion of force can mean that there is a risk of developing it," said Ms Clifford.
Among the tasks recommended by Ms Clifford, as a way of avoiding an eight-hour shift in front of a computer screen, are photocopying, reading, writing and attending meetings.
