Green agenda 'coming to workplace'
14 April 2008 17:15
Environmental issues are increasingly making their presence felt within the workplace, it has been suggested.
According to Phil Flaxton, the chief executive of Work Wise UK, given that more individuals are becoming aware of the environmental agenda and how they can play a part, an increasing number of individuals are considering working from home as a way of reducing carbon emissions.
"As more and more people become aware of their environment
more people think that if they can work from home one or two days a week
then that is going to help things like carbon emissions," said Mr Flaxton.
Indeed, according to data released by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, a survey by the Department of Trade and Industry has revealed that a total of 52 per cent of all employees are aware of the possibility of placing a flexible working request.
