Association highlights benefits of homeworking

The Telework Association has announced that homeworking offers a number of benefits over more conventional working strategies.
Allegedly benefiting employees and employers, the organisation believes that working from home is useful to a company for a number of reasons, including the idea that such a strategy facilitates a reduction in fixed operating costs.
The association also noted that homeworking reduces the office-space needs of an organisation.
"Homeworking is relatively unique in that when properly adopted, it can benefit both employer and employee," said Brian Higton, chairman of the Telework Association.
"For the employee [it offers a] reduction or elimination of wasted time spent commuting -the UK has the longest commuting times in Europe."
Moreover, Mr Higton believes that homeworking is good for employees for a number of reasons; it not only helps to reduce stress levels, but can also improve the equilibrium between an individual's work and private life.
