Recruiters facing problem of 'irrelevant applications'

Those involved in accountancy recruitment, marketing recruitment and finance recruitment might be familiar with a particular problem highlighted by a recent report.
According to a survey, conducted by Broadbean Technology, 'irrelevant responses' are listed as the biggest issues that face recruiters, followed by 'small' responses and candidates applying for roles when they cannot work in the UK.
Emma Cuffaro, head of account management at Broadbean, said that recruiters needed to make sure adverts were well written and concise, "to ensure that they get the most relevant CVs back from job boards".
"In such a competitive industry there is no room for apathy; writing a two-liner or just copying a job spec just won't do," she urged.
A recent study conduced by Employment Review revealed that British companies incur costs of an estimated £500 per head in 2007 due to absent workers.
