National Work from Home Day approaches

Workers and bosses in marketing jobs in London may find they get an extra day out of the office on Thursday May 15th.
However, before planning any excursions, workers in marketing jobs should note that the event is National Work from Home Day, meaning they will still be expected to pull their weight, albeit from more comfortable surroundings.
Managing director of Remote Employment tells OnRec.com: "Smarter organisations reduce employment costs by adopting 'remote working' as a regular employment solution."
National Work from Home Day aims to widen the practice of work from home or flexible work hours initiatives across UK businesses, with the day providing an opportunity for interested companies to trial the scheme.
Approximately five million workers took part in last years' event, while 3.1 people already take advantage of the benefits of working from home in the UK - a number that is expected to double by 2012, according to the website.
Homeworkers are divided into three categories, consisting of 'workers', 'employees' and 'self employed', with employee rights differing according to legal status.
