Employee wellness forum launches

1 May 2008 18:29

Those in senior-level business development jobs may be interested to hear about a new scheme designed to improve employee health and productivity.

The Wellness Management Community's (WMC's) online forum will be officially launched today by Professor Dame Carol Black and offers an internet resource and networking tool for employees and employers alike, OnRec.com reports.

Terry Lawes, European account director for website designer TMP Worldwide, is quoted as saying: "The positive impact of an effectively managed wellness programme on an organisation's employer brand can be dramatic and create genuine business advantage."

Employers in business development jobs using the site will be able to share wellness best practice advice with others, while employees will find access to support resources to aid their mental and physical well-being in the workplace, the website reports.

Personal Wellness Zones will offer localised portals within the site, where employees can get in touch with staff, support groups and trade unions in their area.

Wellness Management is claimed to be particularly relevant to small to medium employers, public sector employers - including government departments, schools and local authorities - as well as charities and housing associations.ADNFCR-1129-ID-18577760-ADNFCR
