Expert highlights dangers of HR restructuring

Those seeking business development jobs may be interested new expert advice that the restructuring of human resource (HR) departments may be detrimental to workers.
Director of HR transformation and systems at Vodafone Mike Taylor believes an over-dependence on restructuring has led to many companies rebranding workers as 'business partners', adding to their workload with little training, according to Personnel Today.
Mr Taylor told the website: "You cannot just take an HR manager and call them a business partner, you really have to take the time to develop them into the role as you see it.
He added that the phenomenon for renaming jobs had led many company's HR department to lose credibility while creating more problems than it solved.
Recent research by Roffey park found that less than 50 per cent of line managers believe business partnering has been of benefit to their organisation.
HR teams are responsible for several important aspects of company organisation, including recruitment processes, training and development and performance and evaluation.
