Risk employees set for CIMA talk
17 June 2008 14:29
Employees in
risk analyst jobs and other parts of the risk management sector will be attending a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) event this week in west London.
CIMA claims that risk management should be a central part of the strategic management of any firm, but notes that risk can come in many forms and in many areas which should be properly understood by those in risk jobs.
Risk employees will listen to a speech from chief executive of Newburn Consulting Richard Ashmore at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel on Ealing Common on Wednesday 18th June 2008 at 19:30 BST.
"The focus of good risk management is the identification and treatment of risk as part of a continuous process by the organisation as a whole," CIMA said.
It adds that if risk management is properly conducted a business will be adequately prepared to respond to these risks should they materialise, while if risk management is poorly conducted an organisation can consequently suffer.
Newburn is an independent consultancy firm that deals in the IT and telecoms industry and offers multi-disciplined advice to its clients.
