Conference assesses social networking in recruitment

People looking for
jobs in tax and other placements in the financial sector may be able to benefit from social networking websites, it has been claimed.
The Online Recruitment Marketing Council (ORMC) is presenting a conference on July 22nd 2008 in the Scott Room on Farringdon Road in London, onrec.com reports.
Speaking at the event is Ben Theophanous of the professional services division at market research firm Datamonitor.
"Datamonitor has produced a report on the use of social networking in a variety of business activities and has drawn some interesting conclusions on how to harness it and when to be aware of its limitations," the online recruitment magazine said.
It added that social networking can complement online recruitment to offer a useful too for
London recruiters and other employers.
The OMRC offers free and independent advice aimed at jobseekers, employment agencies and employers to help them make the best use of online recruitment capabilities.
